AIR NSW Director Report – March 2025

Two NSW Branches, Sydney Hills and St George, shared a stand at the 2025 NSW Seniors Festival Expo held at the International Convention Centre, Sydney (ICC) on Wednesday and Thursday, March 12 & 13, 2025; it was a wonderful collaboration The atmosphere was buzzing. Thousands passed through the doors and hopefully we will get some new members. To entice attendees to our stall we had a raffle of various financial oriented books. There were plenty of pamphlets given away and some interesting discussions from those who came up to talk to us. This was our first year of doing this and the experience we gained will ensure that next year we will be even better.

It is anticipated that the new membership system (Membership Pro) rollout is expected to be completed by June 30th.

Policy and Advocacy.

• AIR Pre Budget Submission has been submitted to Treasury and is available on the AIR website and will be mentioned in AIR Active.

  • Media releases prior to Federal election.
• AIR recommendations such as review of Power of Attorney not addressed by government to be highlighted.
  • Proposed policy development
• APRA Regulated superannuation funds – Draft survey on customer service and administration.
  • Pensions There was a request for input from members and so to prepare a submission on a Performance audit, the Administration of the age pension.
