Welcome! We’re excited you’re considering speaking at the Australian Independent Retirees (AIR) Sydney Hills branch meeting. Our members greatly appreciate the diverse knowledge and perspectives our guest speakers bring. To help you prepare for your talk, here’s some key information:

Before the Meeting

  • Arrival Time: Please aim to arrive by 9:45 am (15 minutes before the meeting starts) if you are the first speaker, or 11:15am if you are the second speaker. This allows time to get settled and for a quick pre-meeting chat.
  • Check-in: Upon your arrival, please introduce yourself to our Secretary or President. They will be there to greet you and help with any setup.

Your Presentation

  • Duration: We allocate approximately 40-45 minutes for your presentation.
  • Q&A Session: Following your talk, please be prepared for a Question & Answer session with our audience. This interaction is highly valued.
  • Slides/Materials: If you plan to use slides, please bring them on a USB stick or email them a few days before. We will have facilities for projection.

The Audience & Meeting Format

  • In-Person Attendance: You can typically expect an engaged audience of 20-30 members at the hall.
  • Zoom Participation: The meeting is also broadcast live via Zoom, allowing more members to join remotely.
  • Recording: Please be aware that the entire meeting, including your presentation and the Q&A, will be recorded via Zoom. This recording is often shared with members who couldn’t attend live.

Extend Your Reach: Share an Article

We warmly invite you to submit an article related to your talk for publication on our website. You can include key takeaways, further information, and relevant images. This is an excellent opportunity to provide a lasting resource for our community and reach a wider audience.

Please submit an article in a suitable format, eg. email, plain text document or Microsoft Word. Do not submit a PDF file as the article will need to be uploaded to our website.

Please note our website is publicly accessible so please do not share any sensitive information such as personal details, confidential data, or proprietary information.
